Who were the Tac Tankers?
All former military members who were associated with KB-29's or KB-50's as aircrew, groundcrew, or administrative personnel. Find members on the active members roster, remember those on the deceased members list, or leave a message in the guestbook.
When was the Tac Tankers Association founded?
It was established in October 1998 by Lt. Col (Ret.) Nate Hill, after a 1998 meeting at Warner Robins AFB, Georgia. See photos from the 1998 Robins AFB meeting and the full reunion history, 1998–2021.
Which units made up the Tac Tankers?
The 420th, 421st, 427th, 429th, 431st and 622nd Air Refueling Squadrons, the 4505th Air Refueling Wing and the 4505th CAMS. Squadron photos: 420th, 421st, 427th, 429th, 431st and 622nd. The squadron insignia and chronology are on the About & Squadron Patches page.
Where are the surviving KB-50J aircraft?
49-0372 was at the Pima Museum in Tucson, Arizona. 49-0389 was released in December 2017 to the AMC Museum in Dover, Delaware for restoration. Members visited 49-0372 at the 2000 Tucson reunion and 49-0389 at the 2001 Tampa reunion. More aircraft are in the KB-50 tanker photos.
