Accessibility Statement

The Tac Tankers Association wants this website to be usable by everyone, including veterans and family members who use screen readers, magnification, voice control or a keyboard only.

Standard

The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page has a skip link, a single main heading and landmark regions.
  • All menus and photo viewers work with the keyboard; focus is always visible.
  • Photos have text alternatives. Long name lists can be searched.
  • Links to other websites are announced to screen reader users as leaving tactankers.com and open in a new tab.
  • PDF documents open in a viewer with an accessible text version where one is available.
  • Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio and pages reflow on small screens without sideways scrolling.

Known limitations

  • Many reunion photos have captions printed inside the image; the alt text identifies the album and photo number.
  • The Facebook feed is provided by Facebook and its accessibility is outside our control. The same content is available at facebook.com/TacTankers.
